First Royals Game

On Memorial Day, we decided that we needed to get out and do something fun, so off to the Royals Stadium we went. We were a bit nervous about taking Brady, but he ended up doing so good! This was Jolee's first Royals game as well, so we had to get them both First Game Certificates, as well as the ice cream sundaes in the mini-helmets. They even got to hit the beach ball that gets thrown around (a kid may have gotten hit in the head with on of our shots, but I digress...). We had great sears too: right behind home plate, and in a nice box-type facility so you can watch from indoors as well as outside. I love watching a ball-game in the hot sun, but when you take kids along you have a whole new set of rules. Nana, Papaw and Aunt Emily all went as well. We all had such a great time, and can't wait to go again!
Now if the Royals would just start winning! LOL

Continuing Tradition

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a bit of a sentimental goober. Well, I've been really excited for a while to have Jolee try on a couple of dresses that are really special. These two dresses belonged to my mom and my Aunt Janet when they were little girls. They got them during their years they lived in Germany when they were kids. They have held up well over the years, and my sisters and I have all worn them. It was so sweet to see how happy she was to try them on. And to make it even sweeter, she wanted to pose in front of a picture that Nana painted recently :)

Lunch With Dinosaurs

While thinking of things to do this weekend, we thought it might be fun to go to the Rainforest Cafe. However, we remembered that they closed the Oak Park location down. Then we remembered that someone had told us about another restaurant of the same kind: The T-Rex Cafe. Since we can't go out to eat somewhere that doesn't have crayons and chocolate milk and lots of other kids, we decided to go! The kids had a blast looking at all the animals and aquariums. Brady got a bit freaked out when the lightning and stuff started going off, but for the most part he did good. I recommend it for familys with young kids for sure :)

Brougham Playground

This last weekend in Olathe, we spent Saturday morning with Lindsey and Jackson at a playground that Lindsey had told us about. She know all of the good family stuff to do up there! We had a great time letting the kids play and getting to talk, but eventually the sun got just a bit too hot. Thanks Lindsey and Jackson

On To 3rd Grade!

Jolee is now a third grader! Time has definitly flown by. She had a wonderful year in 2nd grade, and made a bunch of new friends and had some great experiences. Now she gets to enjoy a month of summer school. Here's some pictures from her last day with her friends and her wonderful teacher Mrs. McGinnis:
